HDD PIPE WORKS
Directional drilling for under-obstacle pipe boring works was performed using the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method.
The project, located in Basra, Hammar Mushrif, was part of the DGS North Gas Out Project. The job involved the installation of 24-inch and 30-inch stainless steel pipes.
This work was executed as an amendment to the current RAI contract with sae-A STX Entech Co. Ltd. for Temporary Facility, Civil, Steel Structure, and Piping works.
The work was completed successfully, despite the challenging location near and inside the DGS station.

The HDD method was chosen over Auger boring due to its superior cost-effectiveness, primarily because the limited area restricted the necessary equipment placement for the Auger method.
